The Glen Rose ISD Board of Trustees unanimously approved the hiring of Shawna Drake-Conway as a junior high history teacher and girls coach at last week’s regular board meeting.

Drake-Conway brings seven years of training and five years of experience to Glen Rose. The newest addition to the Lady Tigers staff taught seventh grade history and coached at Aubrey from 2004-07 before teaching 10th grade history and coaching at Cleburne each of the last two years.

Drake-Conway was head girls track and field coach at Cleburne in addition to serving as an assistant cross country coach.

At Aubrey, she was seventh grade basketball and volleyball coach in 2004-05, eighth grade basketball coach, JV softball coach and JV volleeyball coach in 2005, freshman folleyball coach in 2006 and assistant track coach and JV basketball coach in 2006-07.

Drake-Conway attended Tarleton State University in Stephenville from August 1994 through August 1998, earning a bachelor of science degree in exercise and sports studies. She then spent November, 2003 through May, 2005 earning alternative certification in grades 4-8 social studies, grades 9-12 composite social studies and all levels of physical education.
