It wasn’t easy in all cases, but all four GRHS subvarsity basketball teams got the better of Hillsboro on the road Friday night.

The JV Tigers scored the most impressive win to the tune of 44-13 for their third-straight victory. Glen Rose won each of the first three quarters by at least nine before cruising to the finish line in the fourth. The JV Tigers were at their best in a 16-3 first quarter.

Top scorers included Wayne McFadin (9), Derek Kramer (9) and Carter Garrison (7). Other scorers were Chance Nabours (5), Peyton Lytle (5), Jayden Reynolds (4), Jayton Dillard (2), Trey Yocham (2), Sam Strother (2) and Hayden Swearengin (1).

The JV Lady Tigers endured quite the challenge on the way to a 22-19 win. Glen Rose did win three of the quarters, and more importantly it took the fourth quarter 8-5 for what proved to be the difference in the game. The JV Lady Tigers have now won five of their last six games.

Top scorers included Cheyenne Van Winkle (5), Bryse Brownen (5) and Kimberlee McCullough (4). Other scores were Kalli Crabtree (3), Bailey Barrios (2), Brenna Ibarra (2) and Lexi Crabtree (1).

The Freshman Tigers won their third-straight game via a 36-26 result against Hillsboro. Glen Rose took each of the last-three quarters, and after trailing at halftime (15-14) it began to take control with a 10-4 third quarter.

Top scorers were Wyatt Goebel (10), Bailey Holder (9) and Nick Fowler (6). Other scorers were Dylan Hammond (5), Tucker Garza (4) and Nolan Fowler (2).

The Freshman Lady Tigers grabbed their sixth win in the last seven games thanks to great defense, 21-6. Outside of the second quarter, Glen Rose allowed just one point. It actually won the game in the first quarter (10-0).

Top scorers were Ashlyn Reynolds (5) and Page Green (5). Other scorers were Bailey Brown (4), Brynna Taylor (4) and Hannah Morales (3).
