On Saturday, the Glen Rose Junior High basketball teams hosted a tourney and finished in the top two in three of four divisions.

The eighth grade A-team finished second behind Cleburne Smith. In the teamís 32-19 victory over Granbury, scorers included Ethan Hartman (17), Brazos Overton (7), Coleman Garrison (5) and Matt Willis (4). When Glen Rose lost the championship game in overtime to Cleburne 30-25, scorers included Willis (15), Hartman (6), Garrison (3) and Overton (1).

The eighth grade B-team also finished second to Cleburne Smith. In a 33-5 loss to Cleburne, scorers included Josue Guia (4) and Seth Love (1). The team bounced back with an 18-15 victory over Granbury, as Wyatt Dahl (11) and Adrian Barraza (7) played well.

In the seventh grade A-division, Cleburne Smith defeated Godley in the final. As for Glen Rose, it lost its opening game against Cleburne 35-14. Scorers included Logan Thames (5), Chance Hatfield (4), Tate Swearengin (2), Jake Anderson (2) and Zac Banz (1).

The seventh A-Tigers then rolled over Granbury 40-16. Scorers included Thames (13), Swearengin (8), Hatfield (6), Anderson (4), Jett Gould (3), Connor Hansen (2), Banz (2) and Adrian Lewis (2).

The seventh B-team took second place, as Cleburne Smith won first. When Glen Rose defeated Granbury 27-16, scorers included Jonah Wilson (10), Rhett Downing (6), Cooper Holder (5), Reynaldo Reyna (2), Nick Satterfield (2) and Tyler Moore (2). As Glen Rose lost the title game to Cleburne 27-10, scorers included Reyna (2), Satterfield (2), Moore (2), Wilson (2) and Downing (2).

These teams all return to action on Thursday in Alvarado.
