Glen Rose had 15 track and field athletes in action in the Class 3A Region I Track and Field Championships in Lubbock Monday and Tuesday.

Results were not available by press time early Tuesday, and will be published in the May 12 edition of the Reporter.

Kaitlin West reached regionals in five events - the triple jump, high jump, 200m dash, 4x100m relay and 4x200m relay. Joining her on the 4x100m relay team are Gina Sannoh, Sao Sannoh and Reilly Junge. The 4x200m team is comprised of West, the Sannoh sisters and Jaylon Dillard.

The 4x400m relay team consisting of Junge, Dillard and the Sannoh sisters also made it to regionals.

Junge also advanced in the 100m hurdles.

Other qualifiers included Carly Payne in discus, Breanna Crawford in the 8900m, Gabby Merghart in the 300m hurdles and Casey Cummins in the high jump.

On the boys side, Cody Burtscher, Blake Eschbach, Jesse Betsill and Jesus Aguilar qualified in the 4x400m relay.

Aguilar also advanced in the 400m, Eschbach moved on in the 300m hurdles and Burtscher made the regional field in the in the 100m hurdles.

Pole vaulter Jared Morgan was the only Tiger to advance in the field.
