Glen Rose built an early 14-0 lead but couldn’t make it stand in a 35-28 loss to China Spring in 9th grade football action.

The Cougars scored all 14 points in the second quarter before outscoring the Tigers 21-14 in the second half.

Frank Brandenburg rushed for 140 yards and two touchdowns in the loss, while Corbyn Gilbert and Weston Snow scored on receptions of 50 and 45 yards, respectively.

Jesus Aguilar netted 65 yards on the ground and Ben Mungia was on the receiving end of a two-point conversion pass.

The Tiger defense was led by Jack Hughes, Snow, Mungia, Zach Perez and Ian Valdez.
