Walnut Springs split with Aquilla and Rapoport Academy last week, running its record to 7-4 overall and 5-2 in the Class A Division II District 20 boys basketball race.
The Hornets had four double digit scorers in a 62-53 win at Aquilla on Tuesday, Jan. 19. Johnathan Stack tallied 20, Andrew Herring added 16, Jacob White scored 11 and Eddie Whitt had 10.
Johnathan Stack added eight rebounds, five steals and four assists, while White snagged 13 boards for a double-double. Whitt added five rebounds two assists and two steals to his scoring performance while Herring had nine boards, four assists and three steals. Kody Stack also had a good game with five points, six assists, five boards and three steals.
The Hornets were leveled 58-36 by Rapoport Academy, being outscored 17-9 in the third after already trailing 31-21 at halftime.
Johnathan Stack had 13 points and five steals and Jacob White also scored 13. Herring scored just five but also grabbed nine boards and stole the ball three times.
The Hornets made the short trip to Morgan Tuesday and will travel to Blum Friday.
