Seven Glen Rose girls qualified for the Class 3A Region II Track and Field Championships based on results from the District 12-3A meet hosted by GRHS last week.
Leading the way for the third-place finishing Lady Tigers is Kaitlin West, who qualified in three events - two individually and one as a member of a relay team.
Others qualifying includeAna Ruiz, Kaycie Brown and Katy Irvin in two events each, and Samantha Watson, Dinah Goodson and Rebecca Hajney in one event.
West won the district title in the triple jump at 34-10-1/2, and third in the high jump at 4-8. She was also a member of the 4x200m relay team that finished third in 1:52.1.
Joining West on the 4x200m squad are Hajney, Brown and Irvin.
West also finished fourth in the 100m hurdles in 16.93, and ran on the fourth place 4x100m team that also included Hajny, Irvin and Jenna Lopez.
The 4x400m team of Ruiiz, Goodson, Brown and Irvin ualified as the second place finisher in 4:25.4.
Watson qualified individually in the pole vault, clearing 8-0 to take second, while Ruiz advances in the 300m hurdles after placing second in 51.19 seconds.
Others scoring individually for the Lady Tigers included Brielle Nicholson (4th, shot put, 31-1.5) (6th, discus, 95-7), Haley Coffer (6th, shot put, 29-8.5), Brown (6th, high jump, 4-6), Carly Payne (4th, discus, 100-1), Casey Cummins (4th, 1,600m, 6:01), Goodson (4th, 800m, 2:35.8) and Ruiz (5th, 100m hurdles, 17.83).
