Last week, the Glen Rose Junior High Tiger football teams were in action and they found some success.
The eighth grade Tiger B-team won a shootout thriller over Stephenville 56-54. Casey Ratliff had a monster game with eight touchdowns and three two-point conversions. Three of Ratliff’s scores were from 40 yards or more. Cade Bonesteel recovered a fumble on defense.
The seventh grade Tiger B-team rolled Stephenville 44-0. Nicholas Salyer had a big game with three touchdowns, including a 72-yard kick return score and a 10-yard defensive touchdown. Victor De Los Santos-Sotelo, Teddy Starnes and Zachary Banz also scored touchdowns, while Juan Rabago got Stephenville for a safety.
The seventh grade Tiger A-team walloped Venus 34-0. Logan Thames scored on touchdown runs of 72 and 44 yards. Other touchdown makers were Tate Swearengin, Jake Anderson and Tanner Stroud. Coach Greg Garrison said Jett Gould, Zach Ibarra and Gage Williams played well on defense.
The eighth grade Tiger A-team lost to Venus 32-16. Ethan Hartman (44 yards) and Logan Smith (16 yards) each ran for touchdowns. Coach Garrison mentioned the quality defensive performances of Charles Rios, Coleman Garrison, Brazos Overton and Matt Willis.
