Glen Rose football fans can do more than just watch the Tigers this fall. They can also listen along.
For the third consecutive year, Tiger football will be broadcast on 89.7-FM KEQX, a Stephenville-based radio station.
KEQX, known affectionately as Hard Country Radio, began broadcasting Glen Rose football games in 2006, and carried the Tigers throughout their deepest playoff run in school history last fall.
“This is great for our kids,” said Glen Rose athletics director and head football coach Tommy Dunn. “Anything that brings publicity to the positive things going on with our kids is a great thing, and it’s great for the fans, too. They can bring their headsets with them to all the home games, and if they can’t make it when we’re on the road they can listen along at home.”
Brothers Colby - a former football coach - and Shane Pack will again serve as the play-by-play and color commentators.
In the past, KEQX was part of the Tarleton Athletics Radio Network that carried Tarleton State University sporting events. Other sports interests include the Hard Country Scoreboard Show, which broadcasts high school football scores and news from across the area, region and state.
Known primarily as a classic country music station, KEQX is owned by Back to Roots, Inc. It broadcasts at 6,000-watts, covering Erath, Somervell, Hamilton, Bosque and Hood Counties.
