The Glen Rose Junior High volleyball program is going strong this year and Venus players found that out in a hurry Monday, Sept. 16.

The seventh grade A-team defeated Venus 25-5 and 25-7. The seventh grade B-team also managed a sweep at 25-6 and 25-19.

The eighth grade A-team came roaring out of the gate to beat Venus 25-3 and 25-18. While the eighth grade B-team faced the toughest challenge of the day, Glen Rose was still up to the task in a 25-14 and 25-17 victory.

“The thing that stood out for the evening was that all of our teams showed excellent serving skills,” said coach Sandra Taylor. “One of the Venus coaches mentioned to me how good all of our girls served from the B-teams to A-teams.”

The junior high teams will be back home Monday, Sept. 23 to face Hillsboro at 5 p.m.
