Glen Rose captured the championship in the Dublin JV volleyball tournament as part of a perfect 4-0 mark last week.

The Lady Tigers swept six sets in tourney play Saturday, and defeated Grandview 2-1 last Tuesday, going 8-1 in nine sets. Their average margin per set last week was more than nine points.

In Dublin, Glen Rose defeated Eastland, 25-11, 25-18, Millsap, 25-11, 25-16, and Bangs 25-12, 25-19.

The Lady Tigers dominated the first set 25-5 against Grandview, but stunned in a 25-18 loss in game two. They bounced back, however, clawing their way to a 25-17 win in the decisive third set.

Samantha Montoya led the way with 16 serves against Grandview. Melissa Cook had seven, Taylor Rhodes six and Abby Cole, Shelby Lacy and Shelby Rotan each added one.

The Glen Rose freshman team finished second in tournament play in Dublin. The Lady Tigers defeated Millsap, 25-16, 25-9, and Eastland, 25-14, 25-10, before falling to Breckenridge, 17-25, 25-17, 22-25, in a nail biter.
