A win over China Springs last week means Glen Rose had everything to play for in terms of the playoff race when the Lady Tigers visited West Tuesday night.

The Lady Tigers were tied for third place in District 7-3A with West entering the match. The winner advances to the post season, the loser hangs up its uniforms for another year.

The game was played after press time Tuesday and results will be in the Nov. 4 edition of the Reporter.

Glen Rose used four sets to upend China Spring 25-19, 18-25, 25-17, 25-18 on Oct. 20.

The Lady Tigers were led by Jessie Calkins with 11 kills while Katy Irvin and Kaycie Brown each had nine. Mika Kelly chipped in with eight, Skylar Schneider had five and Haley Coffer tallied four.

In serves, Coffer led with 11 and Calkins had eight.

The Lady Tigers also met Gatesville last Friday. The Lady Hornets, who have secured the outright championship in 7-3A, coasted past GRHS 25-13, 25-15, 25-13.

Irvin had eight kills for Glen Rose and Calkins had four. Coffer had seven serves, Brown six and Schneider five.
