Glen Rose was able to send four players to the Regional Tennis Tournament in Lubbock on Wednesday.

Drew Bumpas and Anna D'Angelo represented Glen Rose in mixed doubles and Evan Burns and Gray Dulcie competed in the boys doubles, Dulcie replaced Jacob Turk due to eligibility issues.

Bumpas and D'Angelo won their first match over Levelland in a tiebreaker 7-4 and 6-3.

"They played with great effort," Glen Rose head coach Greg Garrison said.

The duo went on to face No.1 seed Abilene Wylie where they fell 6-1 and 6-1.

"We had a tough loss against Abilene Wylie," Bumpas said. "But for picking up our rackets once a year, against Wylie playing year round, we competed really well."

Bumpas went on to say, "I really enjoyed my last year of tennis with my awesome partner, Anna, and want to say thanks to Coach Garrison and Coach (Andres) Betancur for everything they have done for us."

Burns and Dulcie fell to the No.4 seed Vernon in their first match 6-3 and 6-2.

"The kids played as best as they could," Garrison said.

Garrison went on to comment on how tough the region Glen Rose is in when it comes to regional tennis meets.
