The Glen Rose TommyGirls continued to roll last weekend, winning the championship in the Waxahachie Invitational Soccer Tournament.

Competing against U16 teams from the Metroplex, the TommyGirls went 2-1 and used a nine-goal scoring spree in the finale to win the title on tiebreakers.

Glen Rose combined its best offensive and defensive performances of the weekend to demolish Rowlett 9-0.

In its previous game, the TommyGirls rebounded from defeat with a 2-1 win against Tri-County United from Kaufman. That win erased the sour taste of defeat from the TommyGirls’ mouths after falling 2-1 to the Plano Hot Kicks in the first match.

Playing for the champion TommyGirls are Reilly Junge, Sami Montoya, Madeline Meaders, Tana Wasilchak, Kiffany Kelly, Taylor Rhodes, Marae Talevera, Jacqui Condy, Jasmin Rodriguez, Roxi Ruiz, Savannah Hulsey, Morgan Bruce and Anna D’Angelo. They are coached by Mike Kelly and Brady Hulsey.
