Glen Rose picked up a win, two losses and a tie in junior high football action against Gatesville last week.

The eighth "A" Tigers pulled through for Glen Rose with a 16-10 win.

Sam Strother scored on a 22-yard pass from Hayden Holder, who ran for the two-point conversion. Holder then passed six yards to Preston Shuffield for a TD before hooking up with Chance Nabours for the final two points.

Holder, Shuffield, Stother, Nabours, Heath Nicholson and R.J. Darch were listed by coaches as offensive standouts, while Colten Lane, Jayden Reynolds, Jonathan Rios, Jacob Point, Christian Ibarra, Trey Yocham, Carter Garrison and Holder were cited for their defensive performances.

The seventh "A" Tigers were drilled 44-6, despite a 37-yard touchodwn run by Chasen Monk.

Coaches named Monk, Wyatt Goebel, Bailey Holder, Gage Costello, Stone Costello, Reece Nickell and Joey Sandlin as offensive standouts. Defensive standouts were Monk, Rhett Rabenaldt, Stanton Mann, Braxton Barrios, Brandon Ochoa andd Cashion Klipfel.

The eighth "B" team fell 12-0 to the Hornets. Offensive standouts were Alex Cocita, Calven Hill, Derek Kramer, Tyler Lester, Josh Martin and Shane Moore. Defensive standouts were Drannon Brewer, Angel Amezcua, Ethan Krueger, Alex Navarrete, Dalton Gould and Antonio Ponce.

The seventh "B" Tigers tied Gatesville 6-6.

Layne McAnear scored the lone Tiger TD on a five-yard pass from Nolan Fowler.

Offensive standouts were McAnear, Nolan Fowler, Matt Branham, Judd Pendleton, Daniel Sandoval and Ty Campbell. Defensive standouts were Nicolas Fowler, Jonathan Harris, Jonathan Fernandez, Calen Ballesteros, Colt Cumpian and Kason Brewer.
