Glen Rose drilled Venus, 11-1, but couldn’t get the bats going against Kennedale in a 6-2 loss last week in District 12-3A baseball action.

The Tigers are now 12-10 overall, and more importantly, 4-2 in district action. Kennedale leads the league at 16-1, 6-0, with the Tigers in second.

A 3 RBI triple by Betsil got the Tigers on the board against Venus, providing enough runs for the win in one swing. Tyler Douglas added 2 RBI later, and one run each was driven in by Trent Manning, Derek Thompson, Colt Plaster, Eliot Clerke, Goebel and Rotan.

Kennedale wasted no time jumping on the Tigers, scoring three runs in the top of the first inning Friday.

Glen Rose came back with one run in the bottom half of the inning when Betsil walked and later came around on a Dylan Mobley single.

KHS outscored the Tigers 3-1 agains in the fifth, with the Glen Rose run again coming from Betsil. He walked, advanced on an error and scored on a Douglas single.

After out-hitting Venus, 15-6, on Tuesday, the Tigers had only five base knocks on Friday, while Kennedale finished with 12.

After playing error free in the win, the Tigers committed three miscues in the loss.
