STEPHENVILLE - The Cowboy Capital Rollergirls (CCR) won Saturday night, Oct. 12 over Assassination City Roller Derby (ACRD) 211-140.

The two teams were matched almost point-for-point the entire first half of the bout with a halftime score of 87 CCR - 64 ACRD. The Cowboy Capital Rollergirls opened up their lead to start the second half with Gillotine Grace, Hot Shot and Reckless Intimidator scoring a combined 53 unanswered points. Despite two strong power jams by Assassination City's Angelic Strict9 and SK80 Sadie when Cowboy Capital's Reckless Intimidator and Hot Shot were serving penalties, it was not enough to close the gap in the end. The Cowboy Capital Rollergirls' strong defense lead by CoCo Shenailher and Little Tank Lulu helped to hold Assassination City scoreless for 18 jams for the game.

The Cowboy Capital Rollergirls hosted a special guest at halftime of Saturday's bout when Stephenville's Mayor Kenny Weldon came to present CCR with a mayoral proclamation for their acceptance into the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA) and their support and contributions to the Stephenville community. Oct. 1 is now officially Cowboy Capital Rollergirls Day in the City of Stephenville.

The Cowboy Capital Rollergirls will be rolling back into Lone Star Arena in Stephenville Saturday, Nov. 9 at 6 p.m. (doors open at 5 p.m.) as they host a special doubleheader event featuring all the members of the league and, for the first time, introducing Cowboy Capital Junior Roller Derby.
