Glen Rose brought home a pair of District 7-3A JV tennis championships by capturing a handful of first place, third place and consolation finishes in Gatesville on Monday.

Both the boys and girls teams won handedly, as Glen Rose had 32 points on the boys side, with Gatesville finishing second at 16 and China Spring taking third with eight. The girls team was almost just as dominant, scoring 24 points for the win while Gatesville and China Spring tied for second with 16 each.

In boys doubles action, Ryan Rathke and Ivan Espino teamed up to win the league championship, while teammates Frank Brandenburg and Dilan Barajas paired together and won the consolation title.

The Tigers also had help in the singles competition as Drew Bumpas claimed the 7-3A title and Matt Wiseman was the consolation championship.

In girls doubles, Carly Payne and Veronica Villa won first while Brittan Sanderson and Taylor Rhodes came in third.

Glen Rose completed a sweep of first place finishes by winning the mixed doubles division thanks to the performance of district champs George Espino and Alexandra Cockerham. GRHS also picked up another third place finish from the team of Abel Hernandez and Katie McAnally.
