The Walnut Springs girls (17-10, 7-6) picked up two wins last week, stretching their hot streak to four wins in the last five games in Class A Division II-District 20 play.

Shakota Billman and Shea Jones both scored in double figures in both games, leading the Lady Hornets to a 38-35 victory against Blum and a 52-24 road thumping of Oglesby.

The Lady Hornets turned a two-point halftime edge into a 30-25 lead after three quarters then held on in the fourth against Blum.

Billman scored 19 points to go with nine boards and five steals, while Jones added 12 points and five steals. Brooke Townley scored four points and stole the ball four times, while Denver Daughtry had two points and Ashely Mitchell rounded out the scorecard with one.

Shadie Shadix had the most interesting stat line of the night. She didnít score, but amassed 16 rebounds.

The Lady Hornets were slow to put Oglesby away last Friday, leading 22-15 at halftime. But they came sprinting out the gates in the second half with a 20-2 third-quarter run and the rout was on.

Townley and Jones each scored 13 points and Townley also collected seven boards and three steals.

Billman and Cheyenne Stephens put up identical numbers as each had 10 points and six rebounds.

Denver Daughtry scored six points and grabbed seven boards.
