The Freshman Tigers of the Glen Rose Youth Football Association came up just short in its bid to become Super Bowl champions of their Tri-County league in Tolar last Saturday.

The Tigers had the ball in their possession and were driving for a potential game-winning score when time expired, giving Maypearl the win.

Maypearl stole the lead away from the Tigers by returning the opening kickoff of the second half for a touchdown, but Glen Rose took it right back with a score on the ensuing drive.

Continuing the trend, Maypearl moved back ahead on its next possession before the Tigers ran out of time in the end.

Glen Rose finished the year 7-2 after the improbable run to the Super Bowl in the first year any of the Tigers to don pads, helmet and a uniform.

The Tigers say they appreciate the support of coaches and parents and are looking forward to another playoff run next season.
