The 2009 season finale was typical of the entire year for the Glen Rose Lady Tigers.

Typical in that they were close, but couldn't pull out the win in the closing minutes.

The Lady Tigers led Hillsboro, 38-37, entering the fourth quarter on Feb. 10, before being outscored 15-7 in the final frame for a 52-45 loss.

"We played well for the most part, and we played hard," said Glen Rose head coach Sherre Hill. "We just always seem to sneak in one poor quarter that costs us, and the fourth quarter was our poor one that night. But it was a good ball game. They just got to the free throw line too much down the stretch."

The Lady Tigers were led by Kaitlin West with 17 points, while Angelica Lusackis had nine. Other scorers included Racia Ratliff with five, Jessie Teryl Dunn with four each, and Taylor Rhodes, Roxie Ruiz and Brielle Nicholson all with two.

The game marked the end of five Lady Tigers' high school careers, as Nicholson, Caitlin Spurgeon, Cortney Talley, Dora Ibarra and Amanda Heijny all donned the red and white for the final time.

"Those girls have been a part of the program for four years, and we'll miss them because they've contributed in all kinds of different ways," said Hill. "They're moving on to bigger and better things and we wish them the very best."
