The Steel Magnolias present Gospel Concert at Walnut Springs Baptist Church

On Sunday evening, August 9, 2015, The Steel Magnolias of San Marcos, Texas, will present a fully choreographed, upbeat concert of Southern Gospel Music at the Waples Baptist Church, Granbury, TX, at 6:00 p.m.

The Steel Magnolias are filled with “electric excitement” for the Lord. We praise God for their commitment to Him and willingness to serve. These ladies are the epitome of Christ-like grace and love. They share a bond few people will ever know.

If you’ve never seen The Steel Magnolias, you won’t believe your eyes, and you will certainly be clapping your hands, snapping your fingers, stomping your feet, and maybe even let out a “whoop” now and then. It’s a program you won’t want to miss of some of the most recent Southern Gospel music being sung.

The Steel Magnolias returned from a 10 day tour this past October 2014 to Colorado singing 25 times which included a FLASH MOB at the Grand Canyon, the Durango Train to Silverton, and Carlsbad Caverns. They sang as many as four times a day on this tour.

This past December 2014, the ladies presented a total of 54 programs throughout Central Texas, with 12 major Christmas programs in churches and banquet halls, plus 42 presentations called “Flash Mob Christmas Carolings.” They were received with open arms for these 10 minute presentations in restaurants, fast food eateries, grocery stores, and a courthouse square delivering a powerful punch of Christmas spirit from Temple to San Antonio.

Over the Memorial Day weekend, The Steel Magnolias had opportunity to help with disaster relief in the 2015 Flood of the Blanco and San Marcos Rivers. The ladies helped “mud out,” tear down dry wall, and do extensive clean-up for several families in the community.

The following Sunday after the flood hit San Marcos, the ladies wanted to share a little Son-shine as they sang some of the old traditional songs up and down the streets to many of the victims in the heaviest flooded areas of the city. Even on that Sunday afternoon, city work crews, and just about all the disaster agencies, were on the streets still hard at work with “clean up,” and heard the message of Jesus Christ sung loud and clear.

The ladies are now preparing for a 16 day Fall Tour to Canada and will be stopping off at the Virginia Beach,VA, Gospel Music Festival where they will be featured before all five sessions of the three day festival beginning October 8, 2015. They will be presenting over 30 concerts covering 4300 miles on this 16 day mission journey.
