GLEN ROSE - Traffic on East Highway 67 was backed up Tuesday night due to an accident. Officer Gonzales stated that it was an "auto pedestrian accident." The pedestrian was airlifted from the scene.

According to Dub Gillum, DPS senior trooper and public information officer, Zachary Griffin, 32, was riding his bicycle in the roadway at approximately 6:14 p.m.

Griffin, who was wearing dark clothing, was then struck by an 18-wheeler and knocked off the bike which caused him to sustain serious injuries. After being airlifted off the scene, Griffin is currently listed in serious, but stable condition.

The driver of the 18-wheeler was not injured in the accident, nor was he cited - due to the fact the Griffin was riding in the middle of the roadway.
