Endless Discoveries hosts summer camp
Endless Discoveries Child Development Center is hosting a summer camp for kids ages five to 13 beginning now through Aug. 19.
The camp will include morning and afternoon snacks as well as lunch and offers camps for two days a week, three days a week and five days a week.
“Our center is open from 6:30 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Friday. Our summer camp is open during that time frame as well,” said owner Kristin Carnes.
Kids will get the opportunity to participate in art, cooking and STEM activities and projects.
“Our theme for this year is ‘Discover Tomorrow.’ It’s for the Olympics, even though they were canceled,” Carnes said. “They’re going to be doing activities like baton relay lace, long jump and an activity called torch walk. They’re going to learn about the different countries and different activities that are typically done within the Olympics.”
Movies will be shown on Fridays, with every movie following the “Olympic” theme.
Carnes said she’s most excited for the kids to be able to have social interaction during the summer camp.
“A lot of these kids have been sheltered for a little bit of time due to the virus so now we are getting more children in. We’re going to be able to do lots of different things outside and really focus on that social element to the program,” she said. “We’re hoping that it’s going to be a really fun experience for these kids.”
