Optimist Club hands out awards

Garret Davis was recently named a student of the month by the Glen Rose Optimist Club.
Lindsay Andress was recently named a student of the month by the Glen Rose Optimist Club.
Andrew Clark was recently named a student of the month by the Glen Rose Optimist Club.
Claire Cantwell was recently named a student of the month by the Glen Rose Optimist Club.

GLEN ROSE — The Glen Rose Optimist Club honored four Glen Rose ISD students, swore in a new presidency and honored several members for their contributions at its meeting last week at the Somervell County Senior Citizens Center.

Glen Rose senior Garett Davis, who is a member of the football team, band and NHS, along with senior Lindsay Andress, who is on the girls volleyball, track and basketball teams and a member of WIT, were recognized as the GRHS Youth of the Month.

Claire Cantwell, who is on A honor roll and is in honors English, history and science, and Andrew Clark, who is involved in sports and showing animals, were also honored at the GRJH Youth of the Month.

Also, North Texas District Optimist International Governor Jim Sanders officiated on the induction of the officers with Kelly Shackelford as president, Dr. Jennifer Cullen as vice president and Susan Bussey as secretary/treasurer.
