More winter weather could be on the way.

The National Weather Service in Fort Worth has issued a special weather statement pertaining to more winter weather across North Texas from Wednesday afternoon through Thursday morning.

The forecast calls for rain changing over to a wintry mix, most likely freezing rain and sleet, affecting much of the region by Wednesday afternoon or evening. During the evening hours, the wintry mix should change over to all snow, especially across North Texas on Wednesday night.

Precipitation should come to a close by Thursday afternoon as the upper level system moves eastward.

Glen Rose ISD announced early Tuesday afternoon on its Facebook page advising parents than an early need may arise to release students early from school on Wednesday, and that parents are urged “to make preliminary plans in the event of an early release from school.”

The school district will also monitor weather conditions leading into Wednesday to ensure the safety of students and staff.
