Mobile unit to visit Glen Rose

Moncrief Cancer Institute’s mobile cancer survivor clinic will be in Glen Rose on Tuesday, March 10 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Somervell County Expo Center.

The community open house features the first-of-its kind mobile unit that will feature exercise demonstrations, nutritious food samples, giveaways and tours of the unit.

The Glen Rose/Somervell Chamber of Commerce will hold a ribbon cutting at 11:30 a.m.

Moncrief Cancer Institute, based in Fort Worth, provides a wide range of support services to patients and survivors, including providing fully funded mammograms for those uninsured at Glen Rose Medical Center.

The mobile unit was established through an 1115 waiver program grant and will be staffed with nurses, radiology technicians, counselors and a nutritionist. Those without insurance or who do not have access to programs are welcome. There is no cost for services.
