Optimist Club names Youth of the Month for junior high

Jesse Niedziela was named Youth of the Month for junior high by the Optimist Club of Glen Rose.

Kerah McConal and Jesse Niedziela have been named Youth of the Month for junior high for the Glen Rose Optimist Club.

McConal’s academic achievements include all advanced honors classes, only honor student of sixth grade class, selected by Duke University to ACT/SAT test. Her leadership activity involves being secretary of NJHS. Her achievements include firstd place UIL Ready Writing, third place local VFW Essay Contest, first place local and district Lions Club World Peace poster contest for 2013-2014. Her community involvement includes over 50 hours of volunteer work at the Thrift Store in 2014.

Niedziela’s academic achievements include perfect attendance, A/B Honor Roll, pre-AP History and English and HS Spanish. His leadership activities include Tiger Squad, Quarterback 8th grade A-Team. His achievements include UIL Social Studies received second place for team and fifth-place individually. His community involvement includes county fair participant where he built a chicken coop and received fifth place.
