Round two.

The Somervell County Hospital District Board of Directors has cancelled the Monday, March 23 meeting, but have posted the agenda for Thursday’s regularly scheduled meeting. The agenda calls for potential action pertaining to the chief executive officer, Ray Reynolds.

Thursday’s meeting will take place at 7 p.m. at the Somervell County Citizens Center.

Item 20 on the agenda, filed at 11:43 a.m. on Monday, March 23, pertains to “the administrator’s employment, evaluation, reassignment, duties, discipline, or dismissal; complaints or charges against the administrator.”

This the second time in 72 days this item will be discussed in an open meeting.

The agenda calls for the Chief Financial Officer Report and Chief Executive Officer Report at the beginning of the meeting, rather than its usual place at the end of the meetings. A public comment session is scheduled at the end of the meeting. In the Jan. 16 meeting in which the board took no action against Reynolds, the public comment session was moved to the beginning of the meeting.

At that meeting, a public show of support for Reynolds and the hospital resulted in nearly two hours of public comments from citizens voicing their support in front of a standing-room only crowd.

Also on the meeting agenda include items pertaining to discussion about pending and current litigation from lawsuits and the attorney or record for the district and existing individual cases; code of conduct; bylaws changes; and forming a committee “to work on a rewrite/modification/overhaul of bylaws”; and a sworn statement from the administrator.

There is also an agenda item for "Request for Proposal to lease facilities.
