Beta Mu Delta’s February meeting was hosted by Ann Claybaugh and Sharon Schultz at Storiebook Café in historic downtown Glen Rose.

A special program was held before the dinner/meeting. Author Robert Petta entertained the group with poems from his book "Office Poetry." In addition to being an excellent author he is also Claybaugh’s son. Petta is working on his next book about ranch poetry, which will be published soon. A wonderful dinner was served by Storie and the setting was beautiful.

President Peggy Lytle began the meeting with the Opening Ritual. Reports by each committee followed. Social committee members updated the group on plans for the spring social to be held in Fredericksburg during the first weekend in June. The service committee reported plans for the annual fundraiser, which is a garage sale to be held on April 18 in Pecan Plantation. Sharon Schultz reported on the date for the Founder’s Day Celebration, which will be held on April 23.

The evening included special recognitions and awards. Debbie Davis was voted Sorority Sweetheart and presented with a tiara and yellow rose. Outgoing President Julie Locke was voted Woman of the Year and was presented with a yellow rose; she will be pinned at the Founder’s Day Celebration in April. Schultz and Debbie Davis took home the honor of being voted Hostesses of the Year with their May 2014 meeting themed cupcakes and flip flops.

Plans are being made for a special Easter meeting in March. Door prizes of lovely orchids and gift certificates to Storiebook Café were won by Melodie Isham, Peggy Lytle and Ymke Condy.

Members attending were Lisa Bonnett, Debi Bly, Claybaugh, Condy, Davis, Tammy Dooley, Dr. Julie Hutchinson, Isham, Locke, Lytle, Schultz and Karen Wells. Pam Hirsch was not present at the meeting.
