Don’t forget this Sunday is Mother’s Day and here are some area events to enjoy. 

1. Dulcimer Festival

Enjoy the sweet sounds of the dulcimer, a fretted string instrument, all day Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the free Lone Star State Dulcimer Festival at Oakdale Park in Glen Rose. Headliners are Harmony from Mt. View, Arkansas; Marsha Harris from Morehead, North Carolina; and Dan Landrum from Chattanooga, Tennessee.

2. Spring Wingding

If you’re a fan of dinosaurs, birds and winged insects, then head over to Dinosaur Valley State Park for its Spring Wingding event from 7 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Saturday. The event will feature bird walks, vendors, dinosaur talks, kids crafts and presentations on hummingbirds, raptors, dragonflies and Monarchs. For more information call 254-897-4588.

3. Mother’s Day Sunset Safari dinner, tour

Treat mom to a fun evening at Fossil Rim Wildlife Center’s Mother’s Day Sunset Safari dinner and tour from 6-10 p.m. Saturday. The evening will begin with a dinner followed by an open-air vehicle tour of the center. A special gift is also included. Reservations are required and for more information call 254-897-2960.
