Halloween fun comes to the Citizens Center

Happy Halloween! The Center is honoring spooks and witches on Wednesday, October 31, with a costume party, beginning at 11 am.  Come in costume, and you might win a prize for the best and spookiest!  There will be snacks and entertainment, and stay for lunch featuring baked chicken and chocolate pie!

Also on Wednesday is our 42 tournament.  If you enjoy playing 42 and would like to compete with others, be here at the Center by 9 that morning.  You don’t like to play 42?  Then come at 10:30 am and learn to line dance.  Lee Home Health will be here on Wednesday at 11:30 am to take your blood pressure.

Chess players gather on Monday and Thursday at 10 am and play until 3 pm.  Bingo is on Monday and Friday at 10:30 am.    Wood carvers meet from 9 am to noon on Tuesday, and the fitness group exercises on Tuesday and Thursday, beginning at 10:30 those mornings.

If you are a Somervell County citizen age 60 and over, you can call to reserve your ride to Brookshires for grocery shopping at 1 pm on Tuesday and Friday.  You can also reserve a ride to Dollar General on Thursday.  The drivers leave at 1:30 that afternoon.  The drivers will pick you up and take you home.

The menu for the week:

Friday, October 26 – Grilled chicken sandwich, homefries, carrot raisin salad, peaches and vanilla wafers.

Monday – Goulash, peas and carrots, broccoli salad, cornbread, diced pears.

Tuesday – Boneless chicken thighs, cheese grits, spinach, roll, peaches.

Wednesday – Baked chicken, green beans, new potatoes, roll, chocolate pie.

Thursday – Smothered pork chop, wild rice, green peas, roll, apple crisp.

Friday – Salisbury steak, mashed potatoes, mixed vegetables, roll, mixed fruit.
