Spreading Good Tidings

Glen Rose Masonic Lodge No. 525 donated $1,600 to the Christmas Express at the GRISD on Friday, Dec. 10. Their check was presented to GRES principal Debbie Morris, and the donation will be split between GRES, GRIS, GRJHS and GRHS. The Masons have been donating to this cause for more than 30 years. Brad Nichols and Charlie Crisp led this year’s fundraising effort for the organization. In addition, during December, the Masons will also be participating in the Fantastic Teeth Fan Club, where the lodge will furnish kits consisting of normal supplies for teeth care to first and second graders.
The Glen Rose Wine & Art Festival Board of Directors and volunteers presented ceremonial donation checks to the benefiting charities chosen for the Second Annual Festival held Oct. 1-2 on the historic Glen Rose Square. The local charities included Somervell County Food Bank PaPa’s Pantry, Somervell County Cancer Support Group and the Paluxy River Children’s Advocacy Center.
