Frush finishes second at Glen Rose meet

GLEN ROSE — Glen Rose junior golfer Kylie Frush carded a 93 on Monday at the Glen Rose District Preview contest on the Squaw Valley Golf Course Links Course to place second overall.

She finished six shots back of tournament winner Hayley Bell of Duncanville, who shot an 87. Nolan Catholic’s Evyn Dixon was third with a 95.

The GR girls finished with a 415 total, while Stephenville, the only other full team in the tournament, finished with a 441.

On the boy side, the Tigers finished with a team total 350, which was good for a tie for seventh with Graham. Brownwood won the tournament with a team total of 316, followed by Stephenville (325) and Nolan Catholic (328).

Ethan Howard’s 85 was the best score for the Tigers, while Blake Perry and Matthew Hammonds finished with rounds of 86.

Brownwood’s Sir Jones and Graham’s Easton Wolfe tied for top honors with 74s,  the tournament with a 74, and Stephenville’s Hunter Rudloff was third with a 75.
