One of "Saturday Night Live"'s most well-known players won't be coming back for the show's 45th season. Leslie Jones is departing after five seasons on the late-night sketch comedy series. 

Jones is reportedly leaving the show before her contract is up in order to focus on upcoming film projects and a Netflix comdey special, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

The Emmy-nominated actress has been part of the cast since 2014 after working as a writer for "SNL." She made several appearances in "Weekend Update" segments  

As of now, Jones is the only cast departure. Emmy-winner Kate McKinnon will return for her eighth season on the show. 

The new season of "Saturday Night Live" premieres on Sept. 28.
